I Just Published Something...

Can I throw up now? My nerves are shot. I'm not even sure why as I published it as a free story - just like the fanfiction and original stories I've published online before.

I'm sure it will get bad reviews, but maybe it will get a few good reviews too.

Anyway, here's the info:

How to Tempt a Coach
by
Fiona Fairhame

Synopsis: A female college student and a physical education teacher at said college have crushes on each other even though they've never met. When they do finally meet, the chemistry between them is explosive.

Excerpt:
I've never been the type of girl to develop a crush on a teacher– until now. Thankfully, he's not my teacher. And this is a community college, so we're both adults. I'm not entirely sure how old he is, though my guess is late 20s, making him about eight, maybe ten, years older than me. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker either.

If you could see him, you'd understand. He is hotness incarnate. The first time I ever saw him, he was shirtless. I wanted to jump him then and there. Unfortunately, it was in a parking lot that I saw him. Or maybe that was fortunate? Either way, I've never felt like that before: an immediate, intense attraction. It scared me, but also excited me.

Hell, it still scares me to some degree. I can't get him out of my head. I've had erotic dreams about him, about us. Sometimes more than one a night. Then I won't have any for a few nights, but they always start back up again in less than a week. We're only a bit over two months into the semester, so maybe things will change before much longer. I'm not entirely sure I want them to change though.

Unless, of course, that change is for us to actually get together. Or even meet. That would be nice. Vicki – my best friend and future sister-in-law – offered to introduce me to him; she was in one of his classes last year while I was off at university.

I do at least know his name: Erik Bryant. I had to ask for his first name; Vicki just kept saying Coach Bryant. She teases me about my crush sometimes, but it is only fair. I teased her enough for her crush on my older brother over the years. Now they're engaged. I didn't even know they were actually, finally, together until that happened.

How Did I Lose 10 years!?

Seriously. How?

Anyway, I'm back now. I'm working on several stories that I will be self-publishing in the coming months. I hope to release one of those around the middle of this month. More to come on that in the next couple of days...

My short story "Souls Ablaze" is going to be published in the charity anthology Slow Burn: The Fires That Bind Us. It will relase at the end of this month, and is currently available for preorder on amazon!

Outlining

I never outline. Well, almost never. I also never finish anything.

Related? Quite possibly.

The last time I outlined anything was a little over two years ago in preparation for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) 2007. I only outlined about one-third of the story. Guess how much I have written to date?

That's right. The one-third I outlined.

Okay, to be honest, I should have said "The last time I outlined anything before last night..."

All I have so far is a rough outline, but I have almost all of my current project outlined. I just have to decide how to end it. I don't have all the fine points down, but I do know the general direction of the story. The big climactic scene is outlined. One entire subplot is outlined.

Just not the ending. Hopefully when I get close, the story will flow to a natural conclusion.

Long Time, No Post

Finally getting back into the whole internet thing. Real life slowed down enough to let me.

I now have my FaceBook and Twitter accounts set up. I'm not terribly active on either just yet, but I'm working on that. Any and all friends/followers are welcome.

I've got several stories in the works right now. Hopefully, I'll be able to share a bit of one of them soon.

I've got to go, so I'll keep this post short and sweet. I promise not to go four years (!) between posts again.

Wow. I can't believe it's been a month since I was last on here. I really meant to keep up with this better, but... stuff happens. ^_^ I probably won't be on much for awhile. We kinda don't have consistent internet at the moment...

Unfortunately, I have not gotten much writing done on my book recently. I haven't writen anything in at least two weeks. I was going to write more here, but I gotta split.

17 November 2005

With the holidays coming up, I probably won't be online much. I'll try to post something about once a week, though...

Tomorrow, or rather later today, I will (hopefully) finally be running the HackMaster tournament I wrote over the summer. This will make my fourth attempt at holding it, so hopefully fourth time will be the charm. ^_^

Speaking of HackMaster, I've been working on a new player character race -- Neko, or cat people. I thought I had them finished earlier today, but when I went to actually create one, I found a few things I need to adjust... joy.

Fiona Fairhame is not my real name. In fact, It's the name of one of my HackMaster characters. I am also planning on using it as a pen name at some point in the future, like if I ever manage to get something published. It would probably help if I could finish something... Hopefully, I'll eventually post some short stories, or pieces of longer stories, here at some point in the future. Don't expect much until January, however.
